If you wonder about renewable energy, solar news are available on our article here. The solar panel, also called solar module or photovoltaic module, is one of the most important components of a photovoltaic system, as it converts solar energy into electricity. Several panels can supply an entire household with self-produced environmentally friendly solar power. You can read more about the functionality, models and costs of a solar panel here. Our solar news themed article goes ahead from below.
Solar news and information
A solar panel is used when installing solar panels to produce green electricity. The individual modules consist of several solar cells, which are connected to each other. For a solar system in turn, several solar modules are coupled together. The process of generating electrical energy from solar energy occurs through the photoelectric effect.
This works as follows: In a solar cell different layers are put together.
The top layer forms a blue “anti-reflection layer”. This prevents the sun’s rays from being thrown back so that as many light particles as possible can be incident.
Two further layers contain lattices of chemical elements. The upper side with more electrons is called negative, the lower side with fewer electrons than positive. Between these two sides, a p-n junction is created that separates the two layers and prevents them from equalizing. Now hit photons, so light particles, on these plates and solve the electrons from the atoms, whirl around the electrons freely and generate heat. Through the p-n junction and a wire connecting the plates, it is ensured that the electrons only flow in one direction and generate electricity through their movement. Solar news and costs of the solar panels- Solar panel review
If you want to buy a solar panel, you should first compare the cost with different suppliers, because depending on the quality of the prices for solar modules can vary. Basically, however, is currently a good time to buy, because the cost of solar modules are steadily decreasing due to:
The unit of account used is usually kWp. kWp stands for “Kilowatt Peak” and refers to the peak output of a solar module under standard conditions. The power is calculated in kilowatts per hour. You should therefore always use Kilowatt Peak as a comparison value when comparing different providers and not calculate the costs by size. This is because you take the actual performance of the system as a benchmark. Currently, the price of PV modules is between 45 cents and 90 cents per watt peak, depending on the quality, panel type and supplier.
In the calculation, you should also take into account that for a functioning photovoltaic system, additional costs incurred in addition to the solar modules.
